SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker, the footwear brand owned by the Sex And The City and Just Like That star, is to close this Autumn amid difficult trading conditions and increased competition in the footwear business.
The brand, founded a decade ago with the late George Malkemus, was inspired by Parker’s association with high end shoe brands Jimmy Choo and Manolo Blahnik, which she had helped to make household names during her years on Sex And The City as shoe loving fashionista, Carrie Bradshaw.
The brand confirmed the closure in a statement to WWD.
“After 10 colorful years, SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker has made the difficult decision to close its doors this fall. The SJP Collection team expresses enormous gratitude to all of their loyal customers and supporters, as well as all those they’ve worked alongside.”
The company’s Bleecker Street flagship store, which debuted in early 2023, will remain open through Aug. 25, and customers can continue to shop online
