Lawyers for singer Pink, real name Alecia Moore, have filed an objection against Pharell Williams claiming he should not be allowed to register a trademark for his P.Inc. business. Pink registered the trademark for PINK back in 2001 and claims P.Inc is too similar n sight, sound, meaning and commercial impression. It will, claims the paperwork, cause confusion with her own name and, as a result, damage her business.

The objection was filed by Pink’s company, Lefty Paw Print, which owns numerous trademark registrations to her name, against Pharrell’s company, PW IP Holdings.

It’s not the first objection to be raised over Williams’ attempt to register the trademark. Victoria’s Secret lawyers last month filed an objection arguing that Pharrell’s proposed trademark will constitute “confusion” amongst consumers, who may confuse it with their successful athleisure wear line.

“Opposer’s use of its ‘Victoria’s Secret PINK’ and ‘PINK’ marks predates applicant’s filing date,” the company’s lawyers wrote in a March 21 filing.

More to come on this one…
